Stargazing at the University
Photoshop
May 2009

This is my first ever complete standalone digital painting.
Its been a humbling learning experience. Such is art.

It was painted 100% in Photoshop, from initial sketches to final product. It is almost 2 ft wide. For a record of my progress, visit: http://ephemeratics.deviantart.com/gallery/#Stargazing-at-the-University

My original dream was to create an ode to environmental concept illustration - to everything I loved about this realm of artistic exploration.

Specifically, I wanted to create strange, sweeping and beguiling spaces, that allured and... disoriented... the viewer

The final result is an allegory, reflecting on religion and science, the conflict and the coincidences, and the mutual pursuit of truth, wonder and the mysterious.

I created this work - not for everyone - but for the few who would love it.

Enjoy!
